North Star Housing Group has won The Investors in People’s Award for UK Employer of the Year (50-249 Employees): Platinum for a second time.
We were thrilled to take home the award at the 2024 Investors in People Awards ceremony on the 13th of November; an evening of celebration alongside fellow organisations striving to make their workplaces the best they can be for their staff.
As a small organisation, being shortlisted for this award- as well as The Award for Best Culture (50-249)- was a fantastic achievement in itself.
To win it for a second time, having done so in 2021, is a huge testament to the work North Star staff put in to build and maintain the positive culture that sets us apart; a culture built upon trust, transparency, and teamwork. This award sends a powerful message that staff are proud to work here and that North Star is a great place to work.
Who are Investors in People (IIP)?
Investors in People (IIP) provides accreditation to organisations that demonstrate a commitment to the effective management and development of their workforce. They ensure that employees are involved, supported and aligned with the objectives of the organisation.
Study findings show that the organisations that have IIP standards have higher employee satisfaction and retention rates, hence improved productivity and increased business success.
We have a proud record with Investors in People, going back to 2017 when we became the first housing association in England to achieve Platinum status. We have proudly retained that status ever since, proving that we are an organisation with an outstanding commitment to staff, tenants and the community.
Why is this award important for North Star?
Ultimately, we want to attract and keep hold of staff of the very highest standard. These awards give us independent verification that we are performing at our best in IIP’s assessment areas so that we can continue delivering the best possible service to our customers.
