Judges at the ceremony, said they were “blown away” by the entries and that North Star staff had gone “several extra miles during the pandemic”.
North Star Chief Executive, Angela Lockwood said: “This national honour is particularly rewarding as it covered a particularly challenging period, during a pandemic where our staff had to deliver frontline services.”
“On top of the general services required, staff also ran special schemes to support elderly tenants, the homeless and young people. It was vital they got it right.”
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the association experienced a record low in sickness levels, and no members of staff were furloughed.
“This award is not only fantastic recognition of the dedication of the staff during the pandemic, but also recognition that others think we are really great place to work” added Angela, who has been chief executive for 12 years.
